So far, the total number of regions requiring compensation from TEPCO has reached 17 Daohe counties, and the total amount of compensation has exceeded 100 billion yen (about 8.2 billion yuan).

The local consultation meetings established by the JA group and others began in April after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant accident, and claimed compensation from Tokyo Electric Power Company every month for agricultural, livestock and other reasons. On the 15th of this month, three more regional consultation meetings were added to claim compensation, namely Hokkaido, Aomori and Gifu. At this point, representatives from 17 regions met with President Xize of Tokyo Electric Power Company and demanded compensation. On the 15th, the requirement was that the price of beef dropped by 32.8 billion yen due to the nuclear radiation problem, and the previous requirement was 108.9 billion yen.

According to the consultation, Tokyo Electric Power Company originally claimed that the compensation before the 15th day would be paid within this year. However, at the meeting on the 15th, the company also said that it would take a lot of time to discuss the amount of this application, and it would be difficult to pay in full within the year. The president of JA Gifu Central Committee, Taomi Okada, said that the sudden change of compensation payment time made people unable to understand the attitude of TEPCO and felt that they had no sincerity at all. On the other hand, Naoto Hirose, the executive of Tokyo Electric Power, also said that the payment was delayed because the amount of compensation claimed was too large. However, delaying compensation will bring inconvenience to many people, so the company is doing its best to do everything.
